AVERSA City Branding

Aversa is my university city, is an Italian town in the province of Caserta. Aversa is known for its artistic and cultural heritage, but also for its gastronomic specialties and the industrial and agricultural production. I wanted to promote the territory, so I decided to design the visual expression
of the city’s identity. I started from the city’s icon: The Annunziata arch, that has a special ‘two-faced’ clock. Infact, the clock is active and shows the correct time if you look at it from the entrance in via Roma, and it is broke and immobile, if you look at it from the exit of the same street. “Two faces” aspect, is curiously linked to the Aversa’s citizens, because they are accused of having “two faces like the Annunziata clock”. ‘Two faces’ aspect was trasformed into a relaunch element, through the representation of multiple faces generated by the multiform visual systems. The system is composed by differents graphics elements that defined “the Aversa’s faces”. Graphics icons generated by the signs, represent famous city’s elements, such as the churchs, the emblem, the “Annurca” apple, the monastery and so on .. but it is possible to generate more and more icons because this is an open visual system, and you.. what tipe of icon would you design?
